Marcin Kędziora

Marcin Kędziora – a graduate of the F. Parnell State Ballet School in Łódź. From 1993 to 2014 he was a coryphée dancer with the “ŚLĄSK” Song and Dance Ensemble named after Stanisław Hadyna. In 2014 he ended his dancing career and began working in the Ensemble’s administration department.

A ZASP member since 2006, since 2014 a member of the Board of the Dance and Ballet Section (second term), and since 2018 a member of the ZASP National Board.

In September 2018, when the Territorial Defence Forces were being formed in Silesia, he joined the 13th Silesian Territorial Defence Brigade. After taking the oath, he became a soldier of the Polish Armed Forces, specialising as a rescuer. One of his duties is teaching First Aid.

In the spring of 2019, he took part in preventing the effects of flooding in the southern part of the Silesian Voivodeship – securing and protecting facilities of strategic importance in the city of Bielsko-Biała.

In August 2019, he participated in the Military Parade marking the Polish Armed Forces Day, held in Katowice on the anniversary of the Silesian Uprisings, attended by the President of Poland, the Minister of National Defence, and other officials.

Since March 2020, as a soldier, he has been actively involved in combating the SARS-CoV-19 pandemic. In the spring, he coordinated Drive&Thru testing points in the Silesian region and worked with the Border Guard, patrolling the border with the Czech Republic and the airport in Pyrzowice. In the autumn, as a rescuer, he supported medical staff in hospitals in Częstochowa and Chorzów.

In August 2020, in recognition of his commitment, he was promoted to the rank of senior private.

Privately, he has been a happy husband for 25 years (his wife Edyta is also a ZASP member) and a proud father. He is also an honorary blood donor.
